Large Pores & Oily Skin

Large Pores & Oily Skin Treatment Options

How can large pores and oily skin be improved?

Step 1: Improve pore function

Increasing cell turnover will help clear out blocked pores and minimize their appearance. Hyperkeratinization is the term used when dead skin cells do not leave the pore because of an excess of the protein keratin, causing increased build up. Reducing hyperkeratinization in the pore can prevent blockages, minimize pore size appearance and improve the appearance of oily skin. Skin texture will improve as a result.

Step 2: Control sebum production

The overproduction of sebum (oil) can be linked to hormones, genetics or an issue with the skin’s hydration balance. Inflammation can also increase sebum production, so it is important to use products with soothing ingredients to control excess oil.

Step 3: Hydrate the right way

Over-washing oily skin can actually make it worse because dryness signals the skin to produce more sebum. There is a delicate balance to finding the right level of hydration for oily skin. Use lightweight lotions or gel hydrators that give skin the moisture it needs without making it feel greasy.

Step 4: Protect from UV rays
